Peach Sangria

Peach Sangria

1 bottle white wine
1 cup peach schnapps
1/2 cup frozen lemonade concentrate, thawed
2 nedtarines, sliced
1 cup green or red grapes, whole or sliced

Combine all ingredients in a large pitcher. Cover and chill at least 2 hours or overnight. Stir before serving. Makes 8 cups.

Freeze some grapes and add them to your guest glasses. This way the sangria does not get watered down by ice cubes

Pottery Barn Decorating Class

My local Pottery Barn at Tuttle Mall had a decorating class on July 26th. This class was Decorating with Color. Our wonderful instructor Patti was very knowledgable about this subject. She had some great ideas. Patti talked about the Rule of Three; to interject color into a room make sure you use that color three times. Also many other helpful hints. Call your local Pottery Barn to see if they hold classes. I would recommend these classes to anyone.

IKEA?

After going to my future sister in laws Bridal Shower, I decided to stop by Ikea. Thanks to one of the great Nesties on the D&R board, I found out there was an Ikea right around the corner from the shower. I was so excited to go to Ikea that I started taking pictures from the car. I didn't have a lot of time (I had puppy dogs waiting at home for me) but I did get my first taste of Ikea. Oh the wonderful possibilites. I was able to pick up some great curtains for our guest bedroom. They were $29.99 for both panels. What a deal! I think Ikea is my new favorite store. Christopher and I found a dining set I think we are going to have save for. We both loved it.

Commodes in the Yard?

Have you checked out the view my my bonus room? Well all the neighbors except one have. Can you guess which one it is?

Let me tell you a little story about this neighbor. The first time I met him was two weeks before we moved in. I had stopped at the house to drop off some more painting supplies on my way to work. I went to back up out of the drive way and this very large man appears in my rear view mirror. I stopped the car abruptly because he scared me. He starts waving his hands around, to stop the car. Like I could miss him? I rolled down the window realizing he must be our future neighbor. This was the conversation:

"Hi, my name is Chris...." Not letting me finish my name he starts "Garbage Day is Thursday and we are blue. Call XXX-XXXX to get our days because after Memorial Day our day will change, so you will need to call XXX-XXX" Before I could even say anything, he disappeared. I think, so he's a little eccentric, all good, right?

That was until I got a good view from my bonus room:

He seems to have a problem with the toilets in his house? I wonder what the problem is? Why can't the toilets in his house stay in his house? Why must they end up in the backyard?

All good questions, right? Do you ever think I'll get the answers?

Do you have a neighbor who doesn't seem to care about their yard? Tell me about it

This is the last day of the Parade of Homes here at The Domestic Princess. This house was my favorite house of the tour. It is very modern and soothing. Here we start at the door.

As we walk through the entrance way there were these wonderful lights

Next we go to the kitchen

That had these awesome accent pieces on the table

We then head into the main floor bathroom

Now we're going to go downstairs to the private yoga studio

and wine cellar
There was also another bathroom on this floor. I love, love, love the stone work.
Now we're going to head all the way upstairs to another bathroom

This beutiful scape was off of the art studio
And another picture just because it's such a beutiful space

As you leave the house throught the backyard, the decorators have created conversation area on the patio.

So, I'm a little late with today's blog post. Ok, a lot late. I drove up to Michigan (3.5 hours) and back (3.5 hours) to go to my future sister in laws Bridal Shower.

Doesn't she look pretty? I'm gaining a great sister. So, on to the Parade:

Beautiful, Beautiful Kitchen

I loved the architecture in this hallway.

Parade of Homes House 6

5381 square feet
5 bedrooms
5 full and 2 half baths
3-car garage
$895,000

I love that this kitchen was done in the oak cabinets. Everyone has jumped on the Cherry bandwagon (including us). It's refreshing to see difference.

What a great idea!
I loved this flower arrangement in the kitchen.

Loving this pantry.

Another Laundry Room that puts mine to shame

This was a "loft area" at the top of the stairs. I loved this desk and little area. It looked like the perfect scrapbook place.

This was the view into the living room from the "loft"

Beautiful Master Bathroom

The backyard was fabulous.
