Glidden White Paint Free
Hardware $3
Picture Frames $30

I feel the wind in my hair....

On Saturday afternoon, during my shopping spree, Christopher and I purchased a ceiling fan for our bedroom. Our apartment had a ceiling fan right above our bed and we missed it so much we had to get one for the house. We paid $119.00 Hunter 5 Minute Fan at Home Depot. The great thing about our house is it was already wired for ceiling fans in 4 rooms. So it took about an hour to put up (it was our first ceiling fan installation). Here's some pictures of our bedroom with the equity increasing addition:

Pergola, Pergola

The backyard is finally done! Whew...that was hard work. Here is the before picture (this is the day we bought the house):

And After:

The Pergola After (Stain for Pergola $32, Olympic - Teak):

Here are more pictures of the landscaping we did ($98 for mulch, dirt and plants):

Table Setting (Placemats, $5 for all four, Kohls; Lantern, $14 Garden Ridge; Pillows, $28 for all four, Garden Ridge; Rug, $40 Walmart)

Total Cost for Patio Makeover: $217

The Great Wall of Pictures

The Parade of Homes trip was cancelled this weekend due to all the rain we got on Saturday. So I decided that shopping was the next best thing I could do.

*Disclaimer: What you are about to see was not the Domestic Princess bargain shopping in the least! *

The first picture I purchased will be going in the Guest Bedroom. This was my favorite and the most expensive. It was $99 from Garden Ridge.

My second purchase was a beautiful sepia picture of the beach. This will be going in our Master Bedroom. This was was the least expensive of my purchase at $49.99 from Garden Ridge.

And last but NOT least is another picture for our Master Bedroom. This one came in at $69.99 but so worth it. I will post pictures of them hung a little bit later.

Also, stay tuned for pictures of the new ceiling fan installation and the stained trellis.

Power Washing Monday!

Tonight we powerwashed the trellis. Hard work but so worth it. We even did the patio pavers and the front porch. We'll be staining soon.

I Saw Red

The backyard project is shaping up. Last night we dug out the grass, put down new soil, planted the hostas and ornimental grass, then mulched with a red tinted mulch. We're loving our new outdoor oasis. (Notice Lola sunbathing)

Here are some before and afters:

Some more pics:

We're going to stiain the trellis next weekend. We have to get a powerwasher to wash it before stiaining. So stain tuned!

Landscape Redo has began

We decided that this was the weekend we were going to make some improvements to the backyard. We have two patches of grass against the house and the garage that will not grow. So we have decided to just plant some hostas and ornimental grass there. Here is the first patch of grass that we're having issues with:

Here's the second patch:

I got this cute lantern at Garden Ridge today for $14.99. Here you can see some of the hostas and ornimental grass we bought behind the lantern also.

We'll be working most of the weekend to get his all done. Check back for picture updates!

New Rug

Good Find Wednesday! I stopped by Walmart on my way home tonight and ended up finding this cute rug.
Oringinally priced at $75. They were out of the rug so they let me have the floor model for $40. We're redoing the back patio area on Friday and this will look great out there.

Bedroom Update

As you've seen from my previous posts, we are in the middle redoing our guest bedroom. This weekend, we got the bed put together, curtain rod up and curtains hung. We still need to hang the pictures, figure out what color to paint the table, and pick out accent pillows. Keep checking back.

Watching Paint Dry

It only took us three hours and the bedroom redo has began. We painted the walls SW Grey Shingle. Here's some pictures. This picture doesn't do the color justice. It's a nice gunmetal grey. I'll take more pics during the daylight.

Daylight Pictures:

I'm loving this color:

**Bonus Pic (The bedding came in yesterday afternoon). I can't wait to get this room complete.

Guest Bedroom Redo

I'm so embarrassed of this room. Oh, yes, that is a mattress and box springs on the floor. In our defense we just moved in a two months ago and I've been trying to get the downstairs decorated. So now I have time to concentrate on this room. Chris (hubster) and I finally agreed on bedding and colors for this room. We are going to do grey walls, white bedding and silver accents. I just ordered this bedding from JcPenny in cool white with the matching curtains. I'm going to get this lamp from Target.

I've got three pictures to hang above the bed. I'm still debating on a couple throw pillows or pillow for the bed. I can't wait to start. This brown table will be painted white.

I'm thinking of doing a design on the top to match whatever pillows I get. We'll see?!? Hopefully, we will have this done this weekend. I'll keep you posted on the progress.
