Click here to check out our video from last nights Trick or Treat experience.

This weekend we have big plans to go to Ikea in Cincinnati. I'm sure I'll have lots to show you when I get back.

Trick or Treat

Chris and I were really excited for Trick or Treat night. It's our first Halloween handing out candy. It didn't turn out like we thought:

Hair

It's so important, isn't it? Well a couple months ago I decided I was going to chop off my hair. I got 10 inches cut off. It felt great and I loved my new do.

But, atlas, I'm tired of my hair again. I think I'm going to grow it back out. Here's a family picture from last October (aren't they adorable?). Look how long my hair was. I miss it and so does Christopher.

(Dad, Christopher, Me, Mom, John)

I'm letting you guys in on this for one reason: When I tell you I'm chopping it off because I just can't stand to grow it out again, you must STOP me! Got it?

Tie Blanket

My Aunt Susan and Cousin Callie introduced me to the tie blanket a few years back so I finally got up the nerve to try to make one. I thought I'd make one for my best friend's daughter, Addison and my nephew, Anton, for Christmas.

I bought 1 yard of the pink striped fabric and 1 yard of the pink fabric both 50% off. My total was $7.00

I cut ties into each side of the fabric. Then tied them together.

I don't think I'm going to be able to wait until Chirstmas. Didn't it turn out so cute?

Vote or Die!

On Sunday we carved pumpkins and Chirstopher and I both think our own pumpkin is the best. So we're going to let you vote. Which do you like better? Pumpkin 1 or Pumpkin 2:

1.

2.

We bought the Pumpkin Master Kit to carve our pumpkins.

Me gutting my pumpkin

Christopher picking out which design to carve

Lola says "Mommy, can I eat it?"

Leave us a comment. Which pumpkin do you like better? I'll let you know which one was whose at the end of the week.

Weekend of October 24 & 25

This weekend was a nice slow weekend. Friday night we picked up a Papa Murphy's Take and Bake pizza. They had pizza's shaped like pumpkins, so ofcourse I had to get one. Then stopped by Blockbuster to pick up some movies.

Saturday morning we slept in. It's been so long since we've done that. We finally rolled out of bed at 11 am and started cleaning the house. I love the smell of a freshly cleaned house.

We had plans that evening to go out to a dinner and movie with my brother, John and his girlfriend, Danielle.

We went to El Vaquero's for dinner. Yummy! They have the best cheese sauce to dip your chips in. My favorite dinner there is the veggie burrito. After dinner, we went to go see Paranormal Activity.

I'm super upset we wasted $18.00 on this movie. Personally, I'm not a scary movie person but Chirstopher really wanted to see this movie so we all agreed to go see it. Usually, I'm scared of everything. This movie didn't scare me at all. Don't waste your money going to see it in the theater. After the movie, Chris and I stopped at our favorite bar, O'Manny's to have a few Great Lakes Oktoberfest's.

Sunday, we headed out for some shopping, then came home and carved pumpkins.

How was your weekend?

Organization Project: Master Bedroom Closet

Our master bedroom closet needed some serious help. When we moved in there were so many other projects (putting our kitchen back together) that needed our concentration that alot of spaces were not organized. This is one of them.

Master Bedroom Closet Before:

Master Bedroom Closet After:

Master Bedroom Closet Details: We went through our clothes and got rid of things we don't wear anymore. They all went to Goodwill. Off the subject, Chris and I have talked about doing a custom closet in this area. We can't wait to have the money for it. Wouldn't it look great?
Have a great weekend!

Organization Project: Hall Closet

Ever since we moved in to this house in May, I've wanted to put my Dyson in here for storage. I finally decided that the boxes had to get unpacked. That's right you heard me, boxes. This closet was full of them.

Hall Closet After:

Hall Closet Details: I bought the purple bin at Target to match my Dyson. It holds all the attachments. The other bin was bought at Walmart with the Kitchen bins.

Organization Project: Kitchen

Since everything I do revolves around my Baby Fever, I talked Christopher into cleaning out some of our clutter spaces. This is purely to keep my mind off Babies but also productive. It's a win, win! Luckily, Christopher was on board because he was a lot of help.

Some of what you're about to see may be disturbing, so if clutter gives you a heartattack, just fast forward to the after pictures.

I figured going room by room would be alot easier so today we are going to start in the kitchen:

Pantry Before:
Pantry After:

Pantry Details: I bought these large storage bins at Walmart for $7.99 each to put our boxed food and pasta sides.

On the second shelfe, we placed all our canned goods by category (soup, tomato sauce, tuna, etc)

Under the sink before:

Under the sink after:

Under the sink details: I bought these medium bins at Walmart for $4.99 each. We got rid of the stuff we weren't using anymore. All liquid cleaners are in the left hand bin and anything else went in the right hand bin.

Trash Cabinet Before:

Trash Cabinet After:

Trash Cabinet Details: First I have to say, I had to beg for this cabinet when we were finishing the kitchen and it's still my favorite. I love how it keeps the trash can out of eyesight. Ok, on to the organization details, we just got rid of some stuff and organized.

Tupperware Drawer Before:

Tupperware Drawer After:

Tupperware Drawer Details: This drawer was really easy. I just locked the lids together and grouped the tupperware.

Extra Cabinet Before:

Extra Cabinet After:

Extra Cabinet Details: Another easy organization space but I found a great place to keep my candles for easy access when guests come over. Yes, I love candles! May a recommend my favorite right now? Fabreeze Pumpkin Spice.

Show me your organization project by linking them below. Come on, let's see them.

Weekend October 17 & 18

We had so much fun this weekend I ended up sick! Uggg...right? But so worth it.

On Wednesday October 15, we went to see our favorite band, Pepper. From the left you have, Rami, Yee, Me, Kaleo, Brett, Christopher, Intern, Tech and Coach. We love these guys. It's so great to see them.

On Thursday October 16, I went to help Callie and Dave decorate the hall for the reception until 3 pm. Then went home to get ready and head off to the rehersal. Dave's mom made a wonderful dinner. Chris and I were so stuffed we home and went right to bed.

On Friday October 17, I got up and met Callie at her house for a bridal party breakfast. Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls, my favorite. At 10 am, we went to Details Salon to get our hair done. The stylist was very nice and did a great job with my hair. After we were all beautified we headed to the reception hall to get dressed and get pictures done. We all froze our butts off taking pictures but it was worth it for great pictures. The ceremony started at 7 pm then it was on to the reception at York Golf Club.

Callie and Dave had alot of really cool elements in their wedding:

DIY centerpieces: squrare vases filled with colored candy sticks and paper music flowers
Clothes Line Table Card Holder: there was a mini clothes line on the stairs with mini clothes pin holders, that held your place card.
Place Cards: The tables were names of games and there were games to play with at each table
Photobooth: There was a photobooth that allowed all the guest to take as many pictures as they wanted but one copy went in the guest book and you got to keep the other.

Christopher and I both woke up on Saturday with colds. So we medicated ourselves and slept most of the day. We did manage to go see Law Abiding Citizen and check out a new mexican restaurant near us.

Sunday we had signed up to take a cooking class at Williams Sonoma with my Mom. The class focused on Fall Treats. We made mini pumpkin cupcakes, apple tarts and cinnamon rolled bread. It was so yummy but wore us out. So we headed straight home and spent the rest of the day on the sofa.

How was your weekend?

The rest of the week, here at The Domestic Princess, will be organization week. So make sure to come back and check out all the organization projects we've completed.

Baby Star

I'm starting to feel better so I thought I'd let you all know about this amazing deal that Baby Star has going on right now. You remember Baby Star, right? My absolute favorite baby store. Well, they just emailed saying that they are having a 50% off sale. Here is what they wrote:

please help us celebrate our first ever baby star super sale with 50% off of all of your favorite baby star goodies for 3 days only! super sale valid from monday, october 19 - wednesday, october 21, 2009. enter code STAR50 at checkout.

If I were allowed to buy baby stuff, I think I'd be busting out the Mastercard right now. BUT since Christopher says I'm not allowed to buy anything baby until we have a little one on the way, I thought I'd pass along the savings to you.

Here is what would be going on my Mastercard if I was allowed:

Can you tell the Four Square Blue is my favorite?

I'm Sick

I'll be back tomorrow!
