Parade of Homes House 4

Builder: Romanelli & Hughes

Information:
4400 square feet (1300 sq. ft. basement)
4 bedrooms (5th optional)
5 ½ baths
3-car garage
$917,000

Starting the tour of this home starts at the front door. What a great way to greet your guests.

Now entering the hallway

We come to the dining room first

Here is the second dining room right off the kitchen. This gives a new meaning to informal dining room don't you think?

This was the coolest feature in this house. Main floor wine cellar. Ingenious!

This bathroom was small but had lots of fun little points to it. First is the tile beyond the sink, they are stone circles.

Second, being the recessed lighting in the shower. Third, I loved how they took the shower curtain to the ceiling to give height to a small bathroom.

Not a big fan of the decorating in this bathroom but I LOVE how wallpaper is coming back.

Here is enterance to the masterbedroom

Before we head back downstairs, you'll pass the family management center. This would keep any busy family organized.

Now to the bar and home theater

Parade of Homes House 3

House 3 Information:

5100 square feet
4 bedrooms
4 full and 1 half bath
3-car garage
$765,000

As you walk into the house on the left hand side we see the dining room

On the right hand side you will find the half bathroom. I love the natural elements in this room.

The hallway leads you right into the living room. Take a look at the stripe on the wall above the fireplace. I love this!

Another angle

Behind the Living Room is the kitchen. The mix of kitchen cabinets (white and cherry) in this room, is something I've never seen before.

Take a look at these appliances. Is that a microwave? Oh yes, it is a microwave. What a great way to get that off the counter.

Another wonderful closet in this house

This little girls room was just too cute. Very simple and very easily replicated.

This is the irish pub in the basement. Great Idea! Dublin, Ohio is known for it's Irish heritage. (Check out Hubby, grabbing all the freebies)

This is the perfect Midwest back patio. I can imagine many late nights sitting by the fire in October.

Dining Room Dreaming

As you all know, we are saving for IVF so most house projects have been put on hold until we get done saving. But this still doesn't stop me from dreaming about projects I want to do. For about a year now, I've been wanting to get some more modern dining room furniture in this room.

I love how modern and clean these rooms below are. I've included some inspiration below:

I'm hoping that soon we can get some pictures on the wall and a new pendant light.

Pottery Barn Sisal Rug

Last week I got my new Pottery Barn catalog and saw that the Sisal rug was finally on sale. I've been eyeing this rug for about 6 months. So, on Friday night, Christopher and I went to our local Pottery Barn and checked out the Sisal Rug. We both loved it and ended up buying the rug in Chino. It was on sale for $159.00 for a 5x8. We still had a gift card for Pottery Barn worth $50, so our total for the rug was $109 plus tax, giving us a grand total of $116.00.

The dining room is my focus for decorating right now and I think the rug is a good start. Here's a picture of the rug in the dining room.

What do you think?

One Year Ago

We closed on our first house. I will never forget the amazing feeling we had as we walked out of the realtors office, knowing we were going to our first home. Chris and I were on cloud nine. Then we walked into the house and the chest pains began.  We remembered that we bought a work in progress.

Here are some pictures of the house, the day we took ownership of it:

The Dining Room

Click on the links and you'll see the current state of each room. It's amazing how far we've come in a year. We love living in our house and have already created such wonderful memories.

Do you remember how you felt when you bought your first home?

Christmas Wrap Up

We had such a great Christmas this year, at our house. Thank you so much to all of our family and friends that were able to make it. The memories we created will never be forgotten.

We rearranged the living room to create more space for all the guests and I think we may keep it.

The dining room table was removed and we put two 6 foot folding tables in. I got centerpieces at the Dollar Tree. For both tables the decorations were $10

Here is a picture of me with one of my new scarves. I wear scarves all the time and have a ton of them, so my mom got me three more for Christmas.

Here is is all of my family crowded into what I thought was our large living room. ha ha!

And last but not least is my adorable newphew who gave 12 people (including us) the flu. We spent all day Sunday and Monday in bed recovering.
