Working away

Watching Paint Dry

It only took us three hours and the bedroom redo has began. We painted the walls SW Grey Shingle. Here's some pictures. This picture doesn't do the color justice. It's a nice gunmetal grey. I'll take more pics during the daylight.

Daylight Pictures:

I'm loving this color:

**Bonus Pic (The bedding came in yesterday afternoon). I can't wait to get this room complete.

Accent Pictures

Scrapbook Paper Photos

**I can't remember where this cute idea came from, please let me know. I would like to link back to their blog**

I got three frames with matte for $9.99 at Joann's Fabric. Then went to the scrapbook paper isle and picked out three patterned peices of paper to go together, these cost $1.77.

I took the back off the frame and cut the piece of paper to size

Put the paper in and the back back on the frame.

Total cost for these three photos: $31.74

Here's a closer look at each picture:

Guest Bedroom Redo

I'm so embarrassed of this room. Oh, yes, that is a mattress and box springs on the floor. In our defense we just moved in a two months ago and I've been trying to get the downstairs decorated. So now I have time to concentrate on this room. Chris (hubster) and I finally agreed on bedding and colors for this room. We are going to do grey walls, white bedding and silver accents. I just ordered this bedding from JcPenny in cool white with the matching curtains. I'm going to get this lamp from Target.

I've got three pictures to hang above the bed. I'm still debating on a couple throw pillows or pillow for the bed. I can't wait to start. This brown table will be painted white.

I'm thinking of doing a design on the top to match whatever pillows I get. We'll see?!? Hopefully, we will have this done this weekend. I'll keep you posted on the progress.

Doggie Bowl Redo

Garage Sales this weekend were a bust minus this cute $2 find. We have two extra bedrooms and one of them will be turned into a doggie bedroom. So I'm planning on painting this red. I had to buy oil based paint due to Home Depot not carrying deep colors in the pints. I had a D&R disaster when I started painting, so I have to go back to the store to get more supplies.

Coat two is applied. I think I'm still going to need one more coat.

I attempted the lettering that Evangeline's Vine did to her chair but I'm not sure it's going to turn out. We'll see....stay tuned to coat three!

Pergo Floor Cleaner

I have always wondered how good the actually manufacturer product really would clean our cherry pergo floors. We have had issues with the flooring because the old owners did not properly clean them (unnatural products i.e. Orange Glo). This left a nice film all over the beautiful floors. I was wondering through Home Depot today (yes, this happens every weekend) and ran into Pergo Floor Cleaner. Now, I have looked everywhere for this and could only find it on the internet. So I decided to pick up a bottle BUT then I saw the glowing yellow sign saying $1.41 reg $5.95. This couldn't be happening. REALLY? So I decided to pick up 7 bottles. Yes, 7! I cleaned them out of the rest of the bottles they had. In total is cost me $9.87.

I'm very excited about how clean my floors are. Check them out:

Wedding Picture DIY

My Aunt Janet helped me out with this project. We got some velum paper at Joann's Fabrics and used my Aunt's printer to print out this cute phrase I found in Good Housekeeping. I then put a wedding picture behind the velum paper to give it a personal touch. We found the frame and he matte at Joann Fabrics and used one of their 50% off coupons, to get a good deal.

"Home is any four walls that enclose the right person"

Office

My wonderful husband has taken on the decorating in his office. My husband runs his business out of our home. He designs websites for bands, PR and marketing. Here are some preliminary pictures. I think he's doing a wonderful job.

Dirty Sink, Get it Clean...

Did you know that Barkeepers Friend is magic?

For all of you with stainless steel sinks, you better have some Barkeepers Friend in your house. This wonderful cleaning tip was past to me from my wonder Aunt Janet. Does your sink look like this:

Clean it up with some Barkeepers Friend. You can find this product anywhere and it is really cheap ($2-$3). I like to use a washcloth and a about a 1/4 cup of Barkeepers Friend. Your sink will be the envy of the neighbors.
