My Santa Collection

I bought my first Santa doll 6 years ago and have bought at least one every year since. Here is some of my collection:

The one on the left is my favorite

The one on the right, was my first Santa

I'm not picky about who makes them or where they come from. BUT I have become picky about certain things: I don't like the ones on pedestals, their beard has to be fluffy and they have to have feet.

Aren't they cute?

How to Wrap a Present

When I was in high school, I worked at Hallmark and used to give demonstrations at Christmas time on how to wrap presents. This has always been something I loved doing.

Here's a fun tutorial on How to Wrap a Present

Tip: Using paper that is lined on the inside makes it really easy to cut straight lines

Loosely measure the paper around your gift

Cut your paper around your measurement

Tape your paper around your gift (Tip: I like to tape on end to the box. It helps the paper stay in place)

Fold the edges on the side of the box. Make sure to crease the edges, this helps the paper stay folded.

Fold again (Tip: Take a little peice of tape and tape each fold)

Fold and Tape

Repeat on the other end of the box and you're done.

Get your favorite matching ribbon. Wrap it across the top of the box, twist the ribbon and bring it back to the front of the box.

Grab a great present topper and wrap it in the bow

Tie your bow. Cut to ends of the bow side ways to give it a nice finished edge.

And you're done.

Practice makes, perfect!

Holiday Decor

I've got another Pottery Barn copy for cheaper today.....

Can you tell I'm loving Pottery Barn's Holiday Decor?

So, I saw these vases filled with faux snow and mini ornaments and the wheels started turning. How can I do this cheaper?

POTTERY BARN |  DOMESTIC PRINCESS
                                          Faux Snow $19.00 | Faux Snow $2.99 (Micheal's)
                                         Ornaments $10.00  | Ornaments $5.99 (Walmart)
                                                   Total $19.00 | Total $8.98

I've also put out my lantern's from the Ikea trip. I got some green sparkle candles from Kohl's and put some cinnomon pinecones in the lantern's also. It makes the entryway smell so good.

What do you think?

Pottery Barn Moss Balls

Have you seen these Moss Spheres from Pottery Barn?

I'm in love with them but not their price tag. For the small sphere it was $21 and the large was $24. I knew I could make these cheaper.

So off to Micheal's I went to get my supplies:

1 Bage of Moss ($4.49)
2 Foam Spheres ($9.00)
1 bottle Elmer's Glue (1.27)
1 Green Thread ($0.35)

Total: $15.11 for two

I used two plastic plates. One to put the glue on, the other for the moss. Take the foam ball and roll it in the glue.

Then roll the glue ball in the moss. The foam ball with the moss attached will look kind of messy until the thread is wound around it.

The last step is to wind thread around the ball.
