Wedded Weekend

Christopher and I had such a great weekend spending time with all the family. We arrived on Friday evening in Sterling Heights, MI. We had arranged to watch my nephew on Friday night so my Brother in Law and Sister in Law could get some rest before their big day. When we picked up my nephew he had a cold. So I knew he would go right to bed for me.

So, I gave him his birthday presents (He turned 2 on August 27) and let him play for a little bit before putting him to bed.

This is the future little rocker. Lol! Well, our little rocker was so sick he slept from 9:30 pm to 9:30 am. On Saturday morning, we ate some breakfast and took a bath.

We all got dressed to go to the wedding.

The ceremony was so beautiful. I, of course, cried. I'm so happy for my Brother In Law and Sister In Law. They make such a great couple and have a beautiful family.

Here are some pictures from our Wedding from Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. What was your favorite wedding you've attended? Why?

Charting

Recently I wrote about a book I'm reading called Taking Charge of Your Fertility (TCOYF) . I have been reading chapters as I have time but have started charting my temperatures and symptoms to gain a better understanding of my cycles. Alot of people, think this would be alot harder than remembering to take my pill. For me it's not. I set my alarm for 6:30 am every morning, stick the thermometer in my mouth, go back to sleep till it beebs at me and record my temp on a piece of paper that I keep right next to the bed. Then when I get up for the day, I record the temperature on Fertilityfriend.com.

From reading TCOYF, I have learned that by charting every month, your doctor will be able to rule out many infertility tests if there is problems conceiving. For example, if your Luteral Phase (the length of time from Ovulation to your period) is less than 10 days you may have a hormone problem. Your doctor would usually put you through a test to test this. By bringing your doctor your charts they will be able to tell right off that you have a hormone problem. How cool is that? It's crazy that we take these things for granted every day but our bodies are well oiled machines.

I've uploaded a picture of my chart so far. Here you can see I started taking my temperature on August 12 which was day 17 of my cycle. The point where the dotted lines meet is ovulation day. From there my temperature will probably remain high for about 10 days past ovulation (dpo). At that point there will be a dip which means Aunt Flo (AF) is coming. This dip should start to head down toward the dotted line. BUT if my temp stays up for more than 14 days this usually means it's time to start taking a Home Pregnancy Test (HPT).

You will notice that on the bottom of the chart there are symptoms, these are things that I have been feeling and trying to keep track of. The reason you do this is so if one month things are off, you can look back at your other charts.

Note: BD=Baby Dance (intercourse)
CM=Cervical Mucous

If you want to stalk my chart (Mom) here it is: http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/294e9b

Do you use natural birth control? What is your experiance with it?

Weekend of Alcohol

What a great weekend! Friday night Christopher and I went to dinner at Old Bag of Nails. We both got the Fish Tacos and had some great beers. Afterward, we came home and sat on the patio and drank wine. We have the best conversations. I just love him.

On Saturday morning, I left for Novi, Michigan to go to my future Sister In Laws Bachlorette Party. I left around 12:00 for my three hour drive there. Kim and I hung out for a little bit before beautifying ourselves for the evening. We went to dinner at Andiamo's of Novi (which was delicious), saw a comedy show at Second City, then headed off to the bars. Here's a few pictures from the evening.

My Best Friend

I've been keeping a secret from all of you and I think I'm ready to share. I have a handbag obsession! And The Princess will not just carry any bag. So when Christopher and I got married we made an agreement about my expensive purse obsession. I still get to purchase my bags but I only get them every 2 years.

The first bag Christopher ever bought me is still my favorite. It was a Louis Vuitton Speedy 30

This bag goes with everything. So after this purse everything is a down grade right? That's what I thought until I saw this:

I just fell in love. It had everything I could ask for in a new bag. The inside was purple with lots of pockets to keep me organized. Christopher told me that I woke up in the middle of the night talking about this bag. So he went and bought it for me the next day. Well that was two years ago come February 2010. So, I'm on the hunt for a new bag. There is criteria I require with a new bag:

1. Space
2. Pockets for organization
3. "An Everyday, Most Every Situation" Bag
4. Neutral (Some colors can look seasonal)
5. Long Strap (But not too long, I like the purse to fit right under my arm)

Here are a few bags I've had my eye on:

1. Coach $298

2. Coach $368

3. Kate Spade $398

4. Francesco Biasia Roselena $448

Which one do you like most?

Hot Blue Chicken

What you'll need to make Hot Blue Chicken Sandwich:

2 Chicken Breasts
1 Bottle of Hot Sauce
1 package Blue Cheese

and we like to have Sweet Potato fries with the Hot Blue Chicken Sandwich.

I like to marniate the chicken for a few hours.

Then grill the chicken. I pour the extra hot sauce on the chicken while it's cooking.

These are the best sweet potato fries I've found in the grocery store. This is one of my favorite meals and it's low in calories and fat. Bon Appetit!

Antique Roadshow

Ok, this isn't THE antique roadshow but it's my little version of it. Christopher and I took a detour on the way to the grocery story on Saturday morning to shop at the antique shops in downtown Columbus. This is something we do often, just for fun. So, I thought you guys might like to come along for the ride. Here are some great things that I found while shopping.

I fell in love with this orange pitcher. It was $10 which was out of my price range for shopping that day.
This old window would look great hanging on a wall in our 'beach' bedroom

I thought these blue mason jars would make great accent pieces

"Let's go upstairs" Says Christopher

I just loved this. I've never seen one in person.

I loved these lamps but had no where to put them. Don't you hate when that happens?

Flash back!

I absolutely fell in love with this stroller. Christopher totally loved it too. It was $123 BUT how would you get that in a car?

I just loved the chocolate in this stroller. It was the same price.

A veiw of the basement.

Down Memory Lane was located right across the street but didn't have any thing worth taking pictures of that day.

The Boomerang was also across the street from the Antique Mall

I just had to! I wanted this Princess mixer but it was $75. Ouch!

Do you think this Hoover could hold up to the Dyson?

Can you imagine, when these were the only settings on a vacuum?

If this were 50 years ago, I may be writing to you from one of these.

I thought this resembled the Starburst Mirror from Target.

How how we've come a long way...

These were the days, when ashtrays were built into tables! Lol!

I thought this was the coolest book. It was published in 1951 and had tips about how to keep your garden.

So do you want to do know what we actually purchased? We bought this chair for $5. It just needs a little cleaning up but I thought it would be perfect in the guest room. It was exactly what I was looking for.

Here is a picture of it in the room.

What do you think?
