Staycation

Christopher and I have a bunch of exciting things happening the rest of the week. Since we bought the house this year, we decided to not take a vacation. So, we took off the next 5 days to have a Staycation.

This year for our anniversary (May 25), I made reservations for Christopher and I to go to Beer School at the Great Lakes Brewing Company. The earliest class they had available was September 2 @ 7 pm. It feels like I reserved this forever ago but it's finally here. So the first day of our Staycation will be going to Beer School and afterward hanging out with Christopher's dad in Parma, Ohio.

On Thursday and Friday, we decided to hang out in Cleveland and find some cool stuff to do. Here are the things we have come up with:

1. Take a passeggiata through Cleveland’s Little Italy where you can dine at a classy restaurant or at a hole-in-the-wall pizza shop, browse art galleries and vintage shops.

2. Drive along Lake Erie’s scenic coastline and tour the historic lighthouses, including Marblehead Lighthouse, Lorain Lighthouse and Fairport Harbor Lighthouse.

3. Trace the paths of escaped slaves along the Underground Railroad from the Ohio River to Lake Erie starting at Rankin House in Ripley along the Ohio River. 4. Ghostly Manor a haunted house open year round

Saturday kicks off the start of college football and OSU is playing Navy at 12 pm. Christopher, Bill and I will probably go to Halftime Tavern or O'Manny's, two of our favorite drinking establishments for OSU games.

Since, we're going to be so busy with our staycation, I won't be back until Monday. So have a great weekend.

Are you doing a staycation this year? Tell me what your plans are!

P.S. Don't forget to vote for The Domestic Princess

That sounds awesome! I grew up in the Cleveland area-so I'm familiar with all the places you're going to. Have a great time!!!

PS-If you get a chance, go to Melt in Lakewood. It's a grilled cheese restaurant-supposed to be super good! I'm gonna go in October when I go home to visit my folks!
