How to have a date night (on the cheap)

Yesterday, Chris and I started talking about how we are in desperate need a some alone time. Yes, I know we don't have kids, we work together, live together. But I'm talking about going on a date, drinking wine, eating some good food. This kind of night can add up quickly.

We started looking for ways to have a date...on the cheap! So, I thought I'd share some of the ways we figured out to have an evening out.

1. Look at those points cards: Our local Mexican restaurant does a punch card: eat 5 times the 6th is free. So does Subway: 100 points equals a free footlong. We also have a credit card that gives us a % cash back on the items we purchased. I have to keep up on it but went into find $50 available last week..bonus!

2. Coupons: Every week I look for the bag ads to see what restaurant coupons they have. A lot of them have BOGO (buy one get one) coupons. Look on the restaurants website also.

3. Restaurant.com: You can buy gift certificates at specific restaurants for cheap. Usually it's $5 for a $25 gift card. I've seen these go down to $2 with website codes.

4. Groupon: If you haven't heard of Groupon you must be living under a rock. They have deals at usually half the price of what you would pay. For example, this week my local Columbus Groupon offered a gift certificate to Flyers Pizza for $7 worth $14. Now that's an amazing deal.

5. Living Social: This is the same idea as Groupon just different deals. This week my local Living Social had Sky Diving for $119. What an awesome date that would be!

6. Eversave: Again same idea as the last two but still another great site to check out. This week on Eversave they had a customized facial for $40 normally $110. Again another great date night.

**Groupon, Living Social and Eversave also give you anywhere from $10-15 for referring your friends. So remember to have them sign up from your link. Then when they purchase something you will get a credit. **

7. Redbox: There are always free rental codes floating around on the internet. Google will be your friend for this deal. You can also follow me on Twitter and Facebook, I try to post these when I see them listed.

So, here's the challange: How cheap will your date be?

**Disclosure: This post does contain my referral links to Groupon, Living Social and Eversave. If you sign up use my link but I promise my feelings won't be hurt if you don't **

I WISH our mexican restaurant had a punch card! That's the only place we eat out.

Here is another one. If you drink a lot of Coke products, save the MyCoke reward points. We turn them in regularly for two free movie passes and free soda at the AMC.
