Denied!

Unfortunately, we were not one of the lucky few that is chosen to be part of the Compassionate Care Program. They said it was based solely on income for us. Suzanne told me that we made way too much to qualify for the program. I wish I felt the same. She told me the program is based on the National Poverty Level but to me I don't understand how people who are below poverty level afford a child, let alone IVF.

I'm not gonna lie....I'm crushed!

But really the only thing that this changes for us is time frame. We will more than likely not have all the money saved until the end of Fall beginning of Winter next year.

It seems like forever away and this is never going to happen for us. After waiting for 17 months already, waiting another 12 feels like eternity. I'd love to say something positive right now, like this waiting isn't going to matter when my child is 18. But I can't honestly say I feel like we are ever going to have a child right now.

Sorry but this also upsets me! I can't understand why things are soley based on the National Poverty Level. It really bothers me. I don't see either how people who are below povery can afford children let alone IVF. Keep the program for people who have the funds to CARE for the child they are reaching out for you to have. Goodness. I am sorry this didn't work out for you.

Oh Christy, I'm so sorry! Honestly, this really infuriates me. I completely agree with you that people under the poverty level should probably focus on other things rather than trying to have a baby. That probably sounds really harsh, but why would you want to bring a child into that kind of situation? I get nervous now, and we aren't anywhere near the poverty line! You are in my prayers and I hope this all works out for you guys!

I came to your blog in a very round-about way, and since then I check in often. I'm praying things will work out for you. I don't know you, probably never will, but please know you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Aw Christy, I'm so sorry. I don't understand the income levels either. Keep your head up.

Aw, I'm so sorry! I also think it's ridiculous they base the income on the national poverty level, I mean, I'm sure some of those people deserve to have children too, but if they're below the national poverty level, how are they going to provide a good, stable home for their children? Ugh, I'm so disappointed for you but please don't give up hope!
